Holy Hoosiers

In November, a Federal court ruled that opening the Indiana House of Representatives' sessions with prayers specific to Christianity is unconstitutional. For most of us this falls into the "no shit" category. To invoke the name of Jesus as part of a public legislature clearly violates the establishment clause.

The Indiana GOP continues to fight this obviously correct ruling but this will go nowhere. As a result, many in the Indiana legislature are saying they will openly violate the constitution today when the session opens. We shall see today whether the drive towards theocracy trumps the constitution for these Hoosier extremists.
